-
Served as student lead in designing and characterizing 2 novel torsional compliant mechanisms through mathematical modeling, iterative multi-material prototyping, steel manufacturing, FEA, experimental validation, and formal publication
Improved deployable satellite joint design through prototyping and concept synthesis
Spearheaded group investigation into novel prosthesis verification methods for able-bodied users through extensive literature reviews and collaboration with local professionals
-
Redesigned aerospace-grade motor housing using SolidWorks, saving more than $10 million
Created and released 20+ professional engineering drawings for components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems using SolidWorks and some GD&T
Constructed two refrigerant-filled test systems to investigate experimental and existing technologies, providing valuable data for design decisions
Designed and engineered 10+ components using 3D printing, carpentry, and metalworking to address prototyping, manufacturing, and testing challenges
-
Corresponded with Peruvian stakeholders to understand and address local manufacturing, shipping, and product design challenges
Boosted humanitarian business development by devising and communicating a modular wooden armoire design with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate product exportation
-
Collaborated with a team of 15+ engineers from various disciplines on over 5 aerospace projects
Procured essential materials from suppliers to meet manufacturing specifications
Skills & Accomplishments
-

SolidWorks and Onshape
I have received my CSWA Certification in SolidWorks and have extensive experience with Onshape. I use these platforms to visualize solutions and guide manufacturing activities.
-

Python | C++ | MATLAB | LaTeX
I use Python and MATLAB extensively for modeling, optimization, data manipulation, and plotting. I use LaTeX to write reports and publications, and I’ve used C and C++ for programming microcontrollers and Arduinos.
-

Finite Element Analysis | ANSYS Workbench & SolidWorks
I’ve used both the ANSYS Workbench and SolidWorks FEA capabilities to analyze various structures and geometries. I continue to improve my skills in these areas with my current research.
-

Manufacturing
I have experience with manufacturing using 3D printing (FDM and SLA), manual machining (mill and lathe), carpentry, soldering, and a variety of other creative methods.
-

Product Design
I enjoy the process of discovering, understanding, and solving important problems. I’ve worked to develop my sketching, ideation, and selection skills to effectively iterate on product design solutions.
-
Fluent Spanish
As a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I taught people about Jesus Christ in Honduras from 2018-2020. During this time I learned Spanish, gained valuable leadership experience, and developed greater self discipline.
